Joe tougas for mayor
I’m running for mayor to help maintain the unique character and quality of life we enjoy in North Mankato, with an eye on ways to enhance the experience of living here.
I’ve been here a long time, moving to the area in 1982 to attend MSU. I’ve lived in North Mankato for decades as a student, renter and homeowner. I can remember living in Lower North Jack and visiting Jack & Jill grocery store, Skank’s nightclub, Happy Dan’s, Heavenly Home-Baked Pizza and, of course, Mutch’s Hardware Store.
The looks have changed but the neighborhoods are still alive with the same quiet, small-town vibe. Today, I’m lucky to have my two grandkids live just a few blocks away.
As I get older, I realize more and more what a great city we have in North Mankato. I’m dedicated to giving them and all of us a safe, enjoyable and thriving city to enjoy in the future, starting now.
